Re: Is a backlash developing against open kitchens?

People have gathered in kitchens with walls for 100 years, people have gathered at kitchen tables for longer so having an open concept kitchen isn't required to be able to gather with friends and family like a lot of posters seem to be indicating.

Re: Is a backlash developing against open kitchens?

It's simply a matter of personal preference & comfort - not something to be dictated by architects, designers, DIY shows. Just like certain colors, furniture styles, etc. are personal preference. I enjoy my open floor plan, high ceilings, & many large windows. My sister on the other hand, is happy with smaller, more enclosed rooms, & lower ceilings. To each, her own!
