I see more and more uses for Dawn dish detergent (the original) .  I might try this --a few drops diluted with water, blot , let dry and try again. That's usually how I tackle these "surprises".

@12andcounting - I had this exact problem and I used cornstarch.  Let it set for a few hours and vacuum.  I had to do it twice.
