Continued appreciation!!! I can't thank you enough for all the information and ideas! While researching "heeling", there were so many notes about doing so with and without the pots, they both seemed to have positives - and I was not sure which way to go.

Those who preferred removing plants from the pots often mentioned plants becoming root bound as the biggest reason. Without the information supplied here, I probably would have been a little afraid to leave them potted...not so now.

The mulch ideas is wonderful, too! I am now trying to figure out where I can dig large enough holes (The yard is pretty full of plants...lol.)
