I have never heard of a “gaiter.”

The style shown on the Q this morning looks very unique.

I could have used this last year when we toured the ICE show in Garland Texas! The air temp was 9 degrees and my skin really took a beating!

Didn't see it, but I wear a knit neck gaiter either around my neck, or pushed up around my head & ears like an open-top cap.
Brrrrrr! Cold weather gear!

Re: Gaiter with headband

[ Edited ]

I wear gaiters when I cross-country ski. Keeps the snow off my lower legs and keeps it from going into my boots. Woman Happy

ETA:  Oh, I just now realized this is about the neck gaiter...like a snood thing.Woman LOL

Gaiters can be for legs or neck.

They were originally designed to keep the wind out of either neck or feet

Skiiers have been wearing them both for years.

I've knitted a few for myself, very handy, easier to handle than a scarf.

Exactly if a gaiter was attached to a headband it would be a mask? GH uses one when he bikes to the station in the very cold weather
