iPad Or Mini iPad

I don't own any tablets of any kind and am dying to get an iPad. My question is to those of you who have both the larger and mini, which do you prefer? I think I'm leaning towards the larger screen one , mainly going to surf the web, watch movies and Tv, listen to music, and play games. I'm probably going to use it mostly at home and not take it out with me. I'm also going to get the model with the capability of using it independent from my wifi, just to have the option in case I need it.TIA
