Windows Updates

Have been having this problem for awhile. I get a notice to update windows. I run the updates and my update history says they are successful. I put 8 updates in last week. Last night windows says these updates have to be put in but they were already put in previously. So I run them again and now it says for me to put them in again. The second time they were successful also. On the main page of the updates it said the last time my updates were put in was in April. I put the 8 updates in last week and last night.

Then after I put in the updates I have a hard time getting my computer on. I have to run system repair several times to get it on. Today I did a reboot and then got it on. Would I have better luck to just let Windows put the updates in? Don't know what's causing this, any suggestions.
