Static in Speakers

My laptop speakers have static in them or in one, don't know. I put in a CD and it had static. Put the CD into my CD player and it plays fine.

I still have my computer under warranty with Dell so I can call them. Before I do is there anything I can check to see if it's just a setting. Really hate to have to call them.
