Samsung-7 Galaxy Special QVC 2-9-13

I know almost nothing about computers, etc., but have been wanting a tablet for the portability. Doing research online, I've been swayed to the Samsung Galaxy line and have demo'd a few at electronic shops. Have not purchased.

I saw the Samsung tablet (below) on QVC this morning and am very interested -- like the price and free shipping. Could any of you experts out there give me advice? Is this a good deal or not? It's only 8GB - no mention if it can be upgraded or not. For just cruising the web, GPS, reading books, email - is this enough? Would this be a good 'beginner' tablet?
