Hello.
I purchased the HP TSV back in Nov/Dec. It was the 17.3" HP Pavilion entertainment notebook. It came with a "free" software package.
My notebook crashed a couple of weeks ago -- only 6 months old. Called HP and talked to the reps in India. Went through diagnostics and found that the memory and drives were O.K. and that the operating system was corrupted. A system recovery was done.
In getting the computer back to working condition, I was told by the rep that it was the McAfee anti-virus software that caused the problem, that I had gotten full of viruses which caused the crash.
What bothers me a great deal is that McAfee and the other software in that package were endorsed by you, representing HP, when that notebook was presented on QVC for this TSV. The HP reps recommended Norton and said don't use McAfee.
Your thoughts please.
