Personally, I wouldn’t be quick to put labels like ‘intelligent’ & ‘oddball’

on either one.  I’m sure the police will give the Public the full story

Well, personally I think any college student must be intelligent or they wouldn't have made it into college.  And anyone who wanted to have a secret, soundproof room in his basement is an "oddball", to say the least.
