HELP. PUPPY NEEDS TO QUIT BITING

I have a 3 month old half schnauzer and terrier. I have tried everything I know of to keep him from biting. I know he is a puppy but you can't even put him in your lap for the nipping. Those sharp teeth can hurt. This is my first puppy so I am a beginner but have tried everything I have read on line. Am I asking too much TOO SOON. any suggestions would be great. Thank you.
