Agreed!  I filled up the gas tank at Costco this morning at $3.53 a gallon here in NJ.

I noticed it yesterday when I paid over $5 a gallon at a Chevron station. Fifty dollars for ALMOST 10 gallons of gas. What a deal!

@RetRN  Heat in many places plus high demand are parts of the problem. but so is worldwide turmoil.

Who's in control  of what where?

Seems we can all feel the pain, but all I can do is control my own demand because I can find ways to drive fewer miles, but the actual cost is out of my control.

@ciao_bella oh wow!  We filled up Friday morning at the Hazlet station and it was "only" $3.39.  It went up a lot over the weekend.

I noticed this as well a few days ago when I went to fill up.  It was $4.00 a gallon near me.

I saw a segment on the news this morning saying the high temperatures at the refineries limiting their productivity.

Last week I learned that the "cheapest" station I'd been going to increased their price to $4.99.   A couple weeks ago I grumbled because it was $4.79.  Ridiculous when $4.79 suddenly looks like a bargain. Oh well.
