I inherited one of the first Dyson's that they made and it was a beast. It picked up ok, but was very hard to push and I don't like a vacuum without a bag. Needless to say, I got rid of it and have had several Bissell over the years. They are a good vacuum, but because everything is plastic on them they are disposable.
