Count Your Blessings - Week starting May 13

Making decisions is not difficult if we know our values. Lord, bless me

with the ability to know myself and the strength of good conscience.

Scripture for the day:

"Be merciful to me, O God, be merciful to me, for in you my soul takes

refuge; in the shadow of your wings I will take refuge." ~Psalm 57:1

Meditation for the day:

God can irradiate our lives with the warmth of God's spirit. We can open up

like a flower to this divine irradiation. We can loosen our hold on the

earth, its cares and its worries. We can unclasp our hold on material

things, relax our grip, and the tide of peace and serenity can flow in. We

can relinquish every material thing and receive it back again from God.

We need not hold on to the earth's treasures so firmly that our hands are

too occupied to clasp God's hand as God holds it out to us in love.

Prayer for the day:

I pray that I may be open to receive God's blessing. I pray that I may be

willing to relinquish my hold on material things and receive them back from

God.

Hello my friends! Hope you all had a great Mother's Day - I did, Lori cooked me a delicious meal, and we had a very nice visit. Got a Facebook message from Darla wishing she was here. I usually ask you to name about 3 blessings God gave you that day - I'll only ask for one, one that stands out more than the others. I think it's been a couple weeks now or is it three that I started this format of weekly. Now I need to get feedback from you all if this is what you want, or do you miss the daily ones? As always, you're all in my prayers and I thank you for praying for us.

TEN SIGNS OF A FRUSTRATED MOTHER

1. Your children know how to read HTML code but can't operate a vacuum

cleaner.

2. Your children tell you that you said "yes" and you don't even remember

the question.

3. You go to the grocery store and find yourself having a good time.

4. Your husband asks how your day went and you rate it on a scale of 1-10

repeats of "stop that!" or "no!"

5. You can't remember the last time you didn't have to share your drink.

6. You mistakenly tell the kids it's "sanity" time when you meant to say

"bed" time.

7. The laundry seems to have taken on an evil nature and you begin to

feel that it's out to get you.

8. You dread hearing the phone ring because it's a sure sign there's

about to be trouble amongst the children.

9. It's finally your turn on the computer and "Touched by an Angel" is

just coming on.

10. You go to sleep with "I'm bored" or "I'm hungry" still ringing in

your ears.

6. What's it cost to fix a window???

7. Has anyone seen my earthworms???

8. I painted your shoes pretty, huh Mommy?

9. The dog doesn't like dressing up in your clothes.

10. I'm moving out. (Well, maybe some days.)

M_O_T_H_E_R....

"M" is for the million things she gave me.

"O" means only that she's growing old.

"T" is for the tears she shed to save me.

"H" is for her heart of purest gold.

"E" is for her eyes with love-light shining.

"R" mean right.and right she'll always be.

Put them all together they spell

"MOTHER"

a word that means the world to me.

I Thank God for my MOTHER

The Optimistic Creed

Promise Yourself

To be so strong that nothing can disturb your peace of mind.

To talk health, happiness and prosperity to everyone you meet.

To make all your friends feel there is something special in them.

To look at the sunny side of everything and make your optimism come true.

To think only the best, to work only for the best and to expect only the best.

To be just as enthusiastic about the success of others as you are about your own.

To forget the mistakes of the past and press on the greater achievements of the future.

To wear a cheerful countenance at all times and give every living creature you meet a smile.

To give so much time to the improvement of yourself that you have no time to criticise others.

To be too large for worry,

Too noble for anger,

Too strong for fear,

And too happy to permit the presence of trouble.
