Some of the worst food I've ever eaten was from St. Louis.  LOL

I would never cut or eat a bagel like that.

Those Panera things aren't even bagels.  So they might as well slice them like they're not.

I actually kind of like the idea. I could have a couple of small slices and just have a taste, rather than eating the entire thing.

@Caaareful Shopper  I love it...for those who just want a little bite or if you wanted to try a different flavor. I think I like that slice and wonder why I never thought of it.

I see your point @dex .  But I feel the true bagel lover wants that crisp outer crust combined with that light inner portion that's chewy but not doughy. The bottom is usually darker than the upper side, that's why if you use the bagel guillotine to slice them, you can get a totally different, yet equally satisfying taste sensation.

Slicing them up like that, you might as well have any roll, ciabatta, brioche, or any type of yeast bread -- not a bagel. Smiley Happy

You haven't eaten at the right places then. STL isn't really known for bagels (and I would never recommend any chain for any type of food).

We ate at some very good places.  I just didn't care for the food.

The pizza was horrendous.  They use some creamy type of cheese that was awful.

I'm pretty sure St. Louis isn't known for it's bagels or it's pizza

According to a friend who lived there they do great barbeque, though.
