Why do you spend money on Retinol and other anti-aging products?

I really am curious. Do they work? What kind of change have you noticed in your skin and is it a permanent or temporary change? I personally will not pay big $$$ for these products but I always wanted to know if you actually receive any great results. If you don't see any results why do you continue to purchase?
