Question about the Lips

Can someone please explain to me why QVC feels that it is mandatory that we buy lipsticks, glosses, etc in groups of 3...........I don't need 3 new lipsticks at any one time... is there something i am missing..................I have always wondered why they did this..........decided to finally ask.
