Question about Dark Circles under my eyes

I recently had cataract surgery and now I've noticed that I have dark circles under my eyes. One isn't so bad, but one is at least twice as bad.

1. What do y'all recommend for a dark circle concealer?

2. What do y'all recommend for a dark circle repair?

I'm on a tight budget, so it has to be affordable.

Thanks!

Re: Question about Dark Circles under my eyes

Hi there, are you past the recovery point where you are not supposed to get water in your eyes? Trying to remember the situation when my parents had their surgeries. The dark circles and discoloration, may be due to bruising, when you do go back to the doctor? I would ask him/her about the discoloration, and ask him/her if you can use a concealer under your eyes and what is alright to use. I think it's important post-op to ask, at least for a while depending on how long ago the surgery was, to clear any products you use, around the eye area, with the doc.

Once you get the okay to use something, you might look at some gentle and fragrance free concealers, such as Clinique, or Almay.

Re: Question about Dark Circles under my eyes

I've read that dark circles can be caused by a variety of reasons so the type of treatment depends on the cause. Ingredients that can help with dark circles are haloxyl, vitamin C, vitamin K, retin A and anything that helps build collagen. A product that I've found to be the best for my dark circles (and for bags if you have them) is Isomers R Pur for Eyes. Re: Question about Dark Circles under my eyes

Thank you all so much!

My surgery was the 3rd and 17th of Dec. so I'm past the recovery time.

My Granny had dark circles pretty much surrounding the entire eye (not bad looking, though) and I'm afraid that since my surgery I now notice what others have seen for a few years! Hahaha

I'll look into the products suggested and see what fits me best.

Oh, and UMDTerpFan...thank you so much for the in depth product description, too.

Re: Question about Dark Circles under my eyes

Use a peach corrector prior to concealer. Pixi at Target makes one, it's very tacky so use just a tad and pat on to spread. Armani Maestro Corrector is another excellent choice. I believe Bobbi Brown and Laura Mercier also make peach based concealers.

NYX has one that is actually orange and as scary as that sounds, is outstanding for correcting very dark circles prior to using concealer.
