I did not try the matching shampoo/conditioner but I been useing this for 2 days now. First time I used alone and the second mixed with a leave in and I must say this is the most impressive hair serum to date. It does exactly what it advertised. Made my hair perfectly smooth and flawless as well as soft. It made my hair look 100% healthy and healed away damage. I highly recommend ( you do not need the shampoo just this) I did not buy the shampoo/conditioner for it had iffy reviews and really do not need any more shampoo

also, is this any different from other hair oils?

like I have tried moroccan oil and drug store silicone type oils.

I like it a lot. It seems to be more smoothing than other oils and I have ALOT of oils. I have the motherload of oils LOL

I had a feeling you might have other oils to compare it to.

I have to be careful because I need moisture and smoothing but some oils weigh my hair down.

I don't think this one has any heat protection to it.
