Need help choosing an "at home" skin improvement device.

I'd like to ask Santa for a device to improve the texture of my skin and brown spots on my face and hands, but I'm really not sure what kind to get. Anybody have one that they really like and gives good results? It can be a physical exfoliator one or a light based one - doesn't matter. Only caveat - no NuBrilliance! Mine died after two uses and it went back to Sephora. Thanks!
