Absolutely love this foundation. Here's my dilema:
Because I have oily skin and this is a creme formula (but not heavy and cakey - great consistency), I only applied Skinn's coconut water to my face instead of my moisturizer. Afterwards, to bring down the shine, I applied Mally's Poreless Face Defender which works wonders with my other foundation.
The shade is 99% right on, but just a teeny bit lighter so I brushed KB's bronzer for warmth. I was so pleased with the outcome.
I much prefer KB's foundation to the one I've been using because of the polished, soft, natural look, BUT at the end of the day my m/u started to break down and my face was so oily.
Shall I try going without the coconut water and bypass my moisturizer altogether? Apply the foundation on bare skin? Would it then drag?
Don't want to stop wearing it b/c the finish is just so lovely.
TIA for recs, tips, advice.

@pommom How awesome that you found something you love! I'm not an expert... but my suggestion would be to try it different ways, and see what works best for you. Different mixes of base product (or none) and finishing products. If it breaks down with everything, you might want to rethink the product for your skin.

Maybe use your moisturizer and then a primer before the foundation.

@pommom, the key might be to wait before putting on your foundation. Use your coconut oil or moisturizer first and then maybe wait about 30 minutes before putting on foundation. That way, your face will be a little drier but still prepped for makeup. While I have never used a face finishing spray (not even sure what they are called), you might use that after putting on your foundation to set your makeup for the day.
Also, he has a finishing powder that I just purchased and it might work for you, also.

Forgot to mention that I did use a primer. Thanks for your input.

Thanks for your help. Yes, I do just that. Apply my moisturizer and wait quite a while, pat my face and when it has dried down, I proceed with the primer - wait a few - and then apply my foundation.
I guess I'll just have to try a few different applications and if it's still no go...will have to reluctantly return it.
PS - does the finishing powder settle in lines?

Great suggestion!!! Will try this method tomorrow. Thanks.

Oops, misread your post. I apply the primer before foundation. (((sigh)))

@pommom, while I probably am quite a few years older than you, I don't have many lines on my face. However, I have found that the power does not settle and you cannot see it anywhere after applying.

Well, then, I shall order it - why not? Couldn't hurt.
