Hi all.  I'm curious about this "hydrafacial" that seems to be going on and on.

And it's ok for sensitve skin.

I'm getting something done, some sort of facial when the PA addresses my sensive skin.  I know what I did after I had the cool peel treatments which were very expensive.

However, I did not keep up with exfoliation, etcetera as I never did before..  My skin looked so good I didn't want to lose it. It was dumb. Big mistake.

But now I have some chin outbreaks, pustules which can be addressed (again which I didn't) and I'm clogged up now.  And rosacea coming back too on my cheeks.  A little itch here and there on my cheeks.

I Will get a facial done at a well recommended place early next week for an assessment.   I can't stand it.  ugh.

@Pink123

There's info about Hydrafacial on their website. Hydrafacial dot com. It's a patented customizable system.

@Pink123  I did the Sephora Hydrafacial in 2019- I really liked it! It didn't irritate my sensitive skin at all and the results the next day were super glowy and nice.  Sephora offers this service by appointment for $80- I got mine for free when they were introducing the service that day.  The Hydrafacial felt like little sucker fish or something and it felt ticklish to the point where I was laughing hysterically for the first 5 or so minutes and then I got used to it.  If you're ticklish, it might tickle you- but all in all, it was a lot of fun to do the facial! Smiley Very Happy

Thanks, what do you think personally if you read.  I'm not sure. But that won't be the only thing they offer me for facial.  Maybe I just need a good old fashioned one to clean my pores.

They will assess it next week.

@Pink123  Good old fashioned facials are always great. I've never been to a spa, but i do a facial at home that I really love- its called Andalou Naturals BioActive 8 Berry Enzyme Mask.  It's about $8 and I use it every week.  This mask exfoliates and smooths my skin and makes it nice and glowy the day after. Whatever you decide to do for your facial, I hope that you have a relaxing and fun spa appointment Smiley Happy.

I've had a few done and for me personally, it did make me more glowy but that was about it. My pores were extracted well but their appearance wase unaffected. I had oily skin at the time (pre-tretinoin days) and alternated them with ViDerm chemical peels and can't say they added any true benefit to the peels. I'm more of a peel person than facial. My Mom on the other had who had very dry skin looked dramatically more hydrated and glowy post facial but it didn't last for very long. Use the mula on a peel instead.

I used to be Tem77 but QVC lost my account! All my A/D orders have been re-instated phew!

I found this in an article about Hydrafacials on elle dot com:

"Is it safe for all skin types?

HydraFacials can be performed on most skin types, including very sensitive complexions. But, those with active rashes, sunburns, or rosacea should abstain from HydraFacials, which can cause further damage or flare-ups. “You also should not do this if you have open wounds or excoriated areas. These areas are already prone to inflammation,” Dr. Rossi adds."

Ok, thanks @NYCTem77 much appreciated. They will assess it but this seems to be a suction facial which is fine like @SportyShorty07  mentioned.  However this will be alot more expensive IMO and I don't want to do that.

Is it over in a few minutes with the hydra facial?  Really it seems to me another fancy way of saying pulling and sunctioning with another machine.  But yet again, that's another form of a facialist's hands.

I had "cool peel" a form of  CO2 laser and it didn't do much and I did waste a lot of  money but again I didn't take care of my skin after and let it clog up.  I do not suggest this treatment for anyone.

PS.  I did read that after these laser treatments you will purge skin.  I wish I would have listened.  Now, it's almost a year.

Thanks, I just want to help people not to waste their money over some of these lasers.

Yes, I did love them and they worked (now I'm talking about IPL, etc.) at age 40-57 but after that that it's not really worth the money in my very humble opinion.

I think an old fashioned type good facialist can do the same thing with hands. For under 90 dollars or 100 at best. Just clean my pores please.

(unless your under 55 of course)  I did it many times and it worked for a long time from my neck up.  But that only lasts so long meaning IPL along with other machines.

Surgery is the best way but most aggressive way to go.  I'm not into doing that though.
