Foundation Shade poll

Do you match your foundation to your face or your neck? Personally I try to find a middle ground. My face is definitely darker than my neck and my face would be too pale if I matched it with my neck. I do sunblock my neck to prevent the waddle. What do the makeup artists say? (I apologize if this was posted before. I don't read here everyday.)
