Well it is popular. I love mine. It sold out on TSV day and they haven't had that model back in stock since which is nearly 6 months.

Does it hurt? I'm in the market for one, but the online reviews are mixed.

It stung a little the first time I used it, but after that it doesn't bother me at all. Watch the presentations and follow the suggestions they give. Such as, if the hair is long ( you haven't shaved in many weeks) they suggest using the shaving head on the eRase model and then use the epilator head a few days later. The longer the hair is the more it will hurt.
