Emjoi Emagine (72 disc) epilator vs "new" Emjoi Erase (60 disc) epilator

Started 1384729638.387 in Beauty Banter | Last reply 1388739064.743 by imxpnsive

Wouldn't the 72 disc one be better than the new one that is going to be in the TSV in December, which only has 60 discs in terms of less passes and more accurate? The 72 disc one is only $4 more than the one going to be in the TSV, although the TSV one will have a sensitive attachment and a shaver attachment (why would we need a shaver if we are epilating?).

Am I missing something? Thoughts?

I have the 72 disc Emagine and I love it but it does miss hair. I just go back the next day or so and get all the stray hairs so I can't imagine I'd want one with a shaver.

When is the TSV?

I recently got the Emagine & am interested in learning about the new one. If it is indeed a better option I can return the Emagine.

I have the same question about the shaver attachment. The epilator is supposed to make shaving unnecessary...

You have to shave a few days before epilating. Well, you don't HAVE to, but it hurts much less if it grabs uniform length hair at the same angle. So, maybe that is why, I have seen a few epilators that were also shavers.

The TSV is in December some time.

wildbob, the TSV is Dec 20. It says "Emjoi's Latest technology, worldwide launch" but the actual description says the exact same thing as the Emagine epilator and doesn't say why it is different or how it is better, technology wise.

Has anyone ordered this and received it yet? I can't wait to read some reviews on it. I'm thinking of getting this one.

I have to buy a new epilator, as mine died. I too am wondering what is so different with this new technology? I don't think I would ever use a shaver attachment. I have only used the Emjoi brand. Does anyone else have any recommendations for the best brand?

I am wondering too? Anyone? I may have to wait to order it (if I decide to) on the day it is presented to see why it is "newer" technology than the emagine.

I have this same question as I have always heard the more disks the less painful so wondered why the new TSV would have last discs. I have to shave every day so wanted to try the Emjoi. The Insider doesn't say what this supposedly new technology is so I will wait to see a presentation.

So far, the new emjoi has four reviews. Three of those reviews are 5 star ratings. I hope this one works better than the last tsv. I need to replace my old battery operated emjoi. Hopefully, there will be more reviews soon.

Thanks for the information! I will go read the reviews. When you say the last tsv, do you mean the callous remover one or did Emjoi have a TSV with the "old" epilator? Thanks!

I didn't think it removed the hair as well as my battery operated one that I've had for quiet a few years. It was missing a lot of the hair even after going over it again. The upcoming tsv looks to be smaller and more user friendly to me. In the description, it states that you have to make fewer passes with this one. I don't know what is suppose to make this one better than the 72 disc, but I hope it is better.

Was the Emjoi "Emagine" the last TSV on an epilator(sometime last year, I thought) I also read on this new TSV that you will not need to pass over the same area as much but am curious as to the why.

Wonder if there might be some info available on another site ............ maybe Amazon. Think I will go check there and see what details might be available. I'll post back here if there is any~

Thank you so much. I am interested in this one too and wonder why it is different from the other 2 on qvc.com (caress and emagine). The emagine looks large and bulky in comparison to the caress but the caress has half the tweezer blades. And I really do not want to pay for a shaver I will not use!

I've got the Emjoi Emagine & it is still in the return period. I have to use it just about every day & still need to tweeze. It is very time consuming for me. I really want to try the Erase so I can compare the two. I am planning to get it when it is the TSV.

Where are you seeing the new one & reviews?

I pre-ordered this one from the Insider. It took me about three minutes to do both legs. It give a little pinch, but sure beats shaving. It is small enough to get areas such as under your arms, that took about 30 seconds each, and, if you do Brazilians, you can maneuver it for that as well. I like that it is electric since it will not loose power. But, if you are fussy about having a very close shave every day, you would not like any epilator IMO. I just care that there is no visible hair and it works fabo for me. I sis use it on my face even though it said not to without a problem. I did not shave first and my hair was at least 1/4 inch long grown out from waxing.

The differences I can see is that this one is ALSO a shaver if you want it to be. I like to shave sometimes, so that's a plus for me. There is also a sensitivity attachment for tender areas like the underarms and bikini area. I don't think the other one had that attachment. This one seems a bit smaller too.

Hope that helps.

Is the Emjoi Erase the TSV tonight?

It is not anywhere on the website tofay, and the program guide doesn't say "featuring emjoi" but apparently it was listed as tomorrow's tsv in the insider.

Yes, I recall someone mentioning it would be the 20th but I could not find it when I searched.

I wonder if it is better than the Emagine...?
