The Beauty of It All

The Q was a whirr of excitement as we kicked off another Beauty Day - a 24 hour event featuring the best in the beauty business, with some great new products to welcome in a New Year AND a New You!

The Scoop team was backstage and on hand to witness all the action. Here is a little sneak peek at what Beauty Event days are like at the Q!

The sets were packed with models, producers, and crew members. Backstage, nobody missed a beat as products were switched in seconds, and hosts and guests hurried into position all before that on air light went red.

Before the beauty day began, piles of hand towels, makeup wipes, tissues, and mirrors lined our set in preparation for the day. There was even a few midday loads of laundry that had to be done to keep up with the demand!

Because consistent lighting is so critical for beauty shows, most of the shows during the 24 hour period take place on the same set. As a result, groups of models from different product lines are always mingling, trying their best to maintain low voices while squelching any last second nerves – all this happens with the live show only a couple feet away!

After the sets were cleared and cleaned, used makeup scraped, and lingering guests’ bags were packed, the Q seemed a little quieter, a little calmer…but a lot more beautiful!
