I've used old t-shirts and then I broke down and bought the Deva towel, which I love. I tried the turbie but it made my hair frizzy which I don't get with the Deva.

Have you tried the Aquis hair towel? I have the waffle luxe turban for long hair and love it! Previous to Aquis I used the turbie twist hair towel, and the Aquis beats it hands down! If you prefer a turban, the brand has different types available on their website.
