I was thinking about cities/locations that have disappointed. 

The one that comes to mind for me is Montreal.

NONE!    I am a "city person".....and I LOVE to visit other cities.

For me it was Quebec. We went a few years ago, and though my mom was French and my Canadian is decent, I felt the who area was cold and aloof. The prices were high (back then), and it wasn't all that.

I don’t have any disappointments, but my favorite place to visit was Senegal. It’s a beautiful very welcoming nation.

Two cities immediately come to mind.  Manaus a city on the Amazon in Brazil.  I know cruises which we were on frequently stop there but I found it unappealing.

In the US, Corpus Christi.  We were going to stay a couple of nights but left after one.  Another unappealing place to me.

We've been to dozens of cities and those are the only 2 that standout as "disappointments."

I've been disappointed by a restaurant or hotel but never a whole city. When I visited Zurich drug usage was allowed in all parks (needle parks) and I  hated that.

But there's always something to learn about history, culture, food, etc. Never bored or disappointed.

@Malcontent   I was in Senegal for three days on a flight layover. I mostly remember dusty streets and laughing with people, even while struggling with language. Yes, very very friendly.

Los Angeles and San Diego.

Key West.  For so many years I wanted to visit and when I finally did, boy was I disappointed.  I'm  totally a sandy beach person and it just wasn't what I had envisioned in my mind.
