Re: Any Issues With Layover Time Being Too Short?

All of you have been a blessing to me in responding to my post.  But, I'm extra thankful to you @Somertime for giving me that Delta 800 number.  Not only did I get the flight changed but I requested a wheelchair which meant I get an aisle seat!  Who knew, lol.  My Chicago flight will go into Minneapolis instead of Detroit which makes no difference to me.  Now I can relax and wait for the date of my trip.  🥰

Happy to hear that.  It was not just St the best way to handle it, it was the only way to ensure that you didn't encounter a snafu.  Wheelchairs to get those of us through the airports is a blessing that I'm always thankful for. N

@Mmsfoxxie  "My Atlanta layover is two and a half hours before going to Albany."

Will give you a chance to have a nice meal & check out all the retail stores.  Delta's terminal is a giant mall & restaurant alley!

I highly recommend the "crabcake sandwich" from Phillips restaurant. 👍🏾

If you still have time to kill after doing the above, take a train ride from one terminal to another, get off at the end & take the above ground air tram to the international terminal. Smiley LOL

Re: Any Issues With Layover Time Being Too Short?

I have flown a lot this summer and you have been well advised to change your itinerary. I wouldn't plan less than 90 minute layover in any of the bigger airports. I have had planes delayed/cancelled because of weather, waiting for pilots that were delayed on earlier flights, and an angry passenger that had to be escorted off the plane. I haven't had a plane land at a connecting gate in years, it has always been a trek. And sometimes when you land the plane has to wait 10-20 minutes for their gate to clear. None of the flight attendants on any of the airlines has let passengers deplane first for tight connections either.

And as an added observation, people don't always deplane in order anymore. Often people from the back rush to the front and practically mow you over!

Please take a small, light bag with essentials in it such as a change of clothes/undies  and your meds for "just in case." It can slide under the seat in front of you.

You will be fine! Just prepare carefully. You can enter your flight number in google search when your plane lands and it will tell you your gate number.

Have a great trip!

@Mmsfoxxie - I'm SO glad everything worked out for you! I've flown through Atlanta many times, and as @Mz iMac says the food there is great! You can have anything from a snack to a full meal.

Again, enjoy the time with your family. I'm sure they can't wait for you to get there!   Smiley Happy

LOL - I personally will be flying through ATL later this month and will have plenty of time to eat. Happy to hear the positive reviews about the Delta terminal there - I hope I remember that crab cake sandwich!

Re: Any Issues With Layover Time Being Too Short?

I connect thru ATL 90% of the time and rarely, if ever, hang out in the terminal. I've been to One Flew South a handful of times over the years, but most of the time I just head for the SkyClub. The terminal is wayyyyyyyy too peopley for me.
