I live inland from where the sighting was, so birders here are all in a twitter 🐦‍⬛

 

The actual sighting appears to a sub species which actually has a red/brown chest, not all blue.  Found mainly in the Philippines.  Moving on to tracing wind paths across the Pacific 😵‍💫

This is supposedly the one spotted in Oregon:Experts believe this blue and chestnut colored bird photographed by middle school band teacher Michael Sanchez is a blue rock thrush, a bird almost never before seen in North America.

These rarely seen birds are thought to have "hitched a ride" on ocean-going ships...

You are right.  Here is a pic of the bird found in the Philippines

When you google the image it does say Indigo Bunting.

Both birds are beautiful.

That is interesting about the bird maybe hitching a ride on a ship!

Wherever he/she came from it is a beautiful bird! The color is gorgeous.

@Icegoddess , ditto on the indigo bunting.  They are a rare sight here but we catch them from time to time.  Beautiful!
