I've typically used cheap computer speakers but saw the Bose Companion 2 Series III speakers were on sale at many retailers for $99 and I had a $50 gift card, so I ordered them, and wow! They're really, really good speakers. They're vastly exceeding my expectations. If you're in the market for a new set of computer speakers, you might want to grab them while they're on sale.

I'm happy to report that I'm alive and well. On December second I'll have been in my new apartment for six months. December second is also coincidentally the thirtieth birthday of my left knee replacement. I've got my Christmas tree up and nearly finished. I just need to add candy canes which I forgot to get yesterday. I've got a little turkey breast in my freezer for Thanksgiving. Everything's going well for now.

@gardenman Great to see you settled into your new home.  Sending best wishes to you!

I like the sound of Bose as well.  I have two small portable speakers.  One is Sony and one is JBL.  Sony is my preferred of the two.  My least favorite headphones were Beats.  I thought they were overpriced but I purchased with a gift card and selection was not great at the time.

The soundstage on these speakers is amazing. I'm listening to some Eva Cassidy as I type this, and I swear the guitar player is six feet to the left of my left speaker. I don't know how they do that, but it's impressive. The speaker is maybe six inches to my left and about a foot in front of me, but it feels like I'm sitting in the front row of an orchestra and the orchestra is arrayed in front of and around me. I was expecting them to be an improvement, but these are much better than anticipated.

A 30 year old knee replacement.  And it's doing good?  That's amazing.  I've had two in two years.  Last year and this year.  I hope mine last as long.

Yeah, when I had it done in 1993, the surgeons said they were confident it would last ten years and their latest experience said twenty was more likely. It's been thirty now, and still going strong. Way longer than expected.
