Monaco is actually quite lovely.  I got to visit there once and go into St Nicholas Cathedral where Princess Grace is buried.   What a beautiful and peaceful place.  I lit a candle for her and my own mom while I was there.

to see it in relation to the other boroughs - Bronx, Bklyn, Queens and Staten Island

Central Park occupies a lot of Manhattan

I was in Monaco many years ago and while beautiful, it's just a gambling haven.  Not that I have any idea how to gamble, but we went to one casino and everything was in French of course.

@On It    Wow!  That does certainly put things into perspective!  I'd have never guessed it was so small either.😃

Re: Size of Monaco

Years ago, I went to Monaco as part of a "Europass" train trip from Paris to Monaco to Nice.  It's a little jewel of a place.  I won about $80 at the Casino the one night I was there--enough for a few nice meals in the next few days.  It's a very pretty place.  South of France (Nice) is lovely, too. The sea south of France is beautiful.  Juan Les Pins, near Antibes, was really the best beach I've ever been on.  This was many years ago.

The moonrise over Juan Les Pins... I still have dreams about it.  A very magical part of the world, at least in the summer, when I visited in early July.

Where was Prince and Princess Grace of Monaco's place of residence?

I visited Monaco many years ago......viewed the casino from a distance away.

Lovely, quiet place, as I recall.

'More or less', 'Right or wrong', 'In general', and 'Just thinking out loud ' (as usual).

Hi, Romary, I think the Palace is about a mile away from the Casino (it's a kilometer from the train station and my travel buddy voted for the Casino.

I didn't see the Palace at all from where we briefly were.  I've only really gambled twice--once at the Monaco Casino, and once at Las Vegas.  Did better in the Old World than in the New, but I won a little bit at Vegas, due to being schooled in poker as a kid.

@On It ,  thanks for making the size of Monaco so graphic!

All of those teeny, tiny city-states, countries or principalities have always fascinated me--  Lichtenstein, Luxembourg, etc.

The entire population of Monaco, I learned, is a little under 37,000.  The size of a small to medium city.

The people are called Monegasques.  They are a mix of French, Italian, Monegasque, and a variety of other groups.

I would think the population density would be pretty high in that "half of Central Park" acreage....

Never been there.  Have no interest in Theocracy countries.  All I know of it, is pro tennis players claim they live there for tax purposes.  But they don't really live there.  Nearly all tennis pro live in either Florida or California.
