Well, I think parents in general should learn to control their kids in public. Especially if the kid is a brat.

Businesses need to take a proactive stance on this as well. Maybe the woman can find a good ambulance chaser and sue Nordies for not being more proactive enforcing basic in-store customer standards.

She should also press charges. I saw the video.

What does Nordies have to do with it? The attack happened in the parking lot.

Sorry, I can't see store security stepping in for a kid with a tantrum.

It started inside the store,, a Nordies Rack, where the victim asked her to calm her child. Read OP. The attacker followed the victim to the parking lot and beat her up. You bet security should step in.

I did read it, MM. To my knowledge, there is no security there. If there is, it would be someone that would have to be summoned.

It's not a mall in the usual sense of the word. See post above.

I would never confront a stranger. In this day and age it could get you killed. Just this week I witnessed a confrontation in the grocery store. A child was screetching repeatedly at a very high pitch. A man screamed at the mother, and told her to tqpe her kids mouth shut. That lady got right in his face and let him have it. I thought she was going to hit him, but she didn't.

A major moral of the story is about self-preservation: never confront a stranger. There are too many violent people out there, looking for any excuse to strike.

I hope there was a parking lot camera that captured where the perp went, hopefully a car license. I hope they get her. I also hope the victim heals quickly.

It might be asking too much, but can't people put on their tolerance caps when they go out in public? Can't we just assume someone we cross paths with is not going to behave the way we would like them to? I'm not blaming this victim, but really, how long was she going to be waiting in that line? She couldn't grin and bear it for five or ten minutes?

The non-existent security most surely should have.

Really?! OMG! Why should anyone have to tolerate a screaming kid that isn't theirs?

Control your kid or find a sitter.

Don't put others though H _ L _! Why ruin their day?

I assume she's talking about the self preservation factor. But if you feel free to confront strangers, that's your business.

Good luck.

Not everyone can pay a sitter so they can go shopping. Children sometimes melt down. It happens.
