Yesterday DH and I drove eleven and 1/2 hrs one way to pick up brands in CA and bring them back to AZ.  In addition to the blizzard we drove through, we encountered many closed bathrooms (too little staff, too frequent cleaning required) plus a bazaar McDonald's where we were only customers and everything was blocked off with caution tape.  Did I mention we were supposed to spend  the night in Laughlin but hotel called day of our stay (all casinos in Nevada were closed with no notice).  Today I read that all the closed rest stops are a big problem for truckers (and of course, they are our lifeline).

Oh, this is not good news.  I've been concerned about that possibility.  We need to leave AZ in a month and get back home to WA.  I need those rest stop facilities.

Make sure you take your own TP, I've been reading that they are being stolen at 'rest stops' across the country.

You never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.

@patbz

I had seen online that rest stops that could not be monitored 24-7 by employees were closed because people had been stealing toilet paper.Cat Surprised

I don't think stealing t.p. could be a big problem at rest stops; they use those giant rolls of utilitarian paper that are locked inside dispensers.

@patbz    What an adventure!  You deserve a medal.  Now that you've got them, what are you going to do with them?  How old are the grands?

All they would do is just unroll it all into a tote.  Where I used to work that is what would happen in the reception restroom all the time!!

My brother just called me from Nevada where he is staying with his son and baby grandson.  They were in a laundramat and told that they needed to leave because it was supposed to be closed.

One of the small towns where you can't drink tap water.  They were told one of their "water machines" was down. One shortage after another.
