Unless you have a medical need for more, as documented by blood or urine tests, don't take more. It will only make your kidneys work harder.

There are several types of magnesium supplements. Each type can address different problems. Taking more than 350mg a day in supplement form can be dangerous. Go to Web Md's website and read about it.

I take magnesium oxide, works great as a very natural and gentle laxative and stool softener, as in Phillips. Also if you take calcium you need mag as part of the regimen of cal, mag, D3 and K2.

Lessman buyer of Magnesium, leg cramps, spasms, and muscle twitches be gone. 1000mg daily and it helps with constipation as well (think milk of magnesia). His brand is all I buy. It's quality stuff worth every penny and I spend literal thousands every year. I prefer health over fashion for my dollars.

Yes it can. I was taking Calm for about a month to help with sleep and had no issues then suddenly one night about 2 am BAM! Diarrhea. Took me a couple of days to figure out what was causing it. I threw it in the trash.

i would not take it just because some tv vendor is selling it. I take several supplements but only because my doctors have advised me to take them because I have deficiencies in some things.

Once again, I am reading posts from self-medicating lay people. It is sad to bear witness to this level of thinking. If you did not go to medical school and also have appropriate blood work done, it is highly doubtful that you can correctly decide whether you need magnesium (or other) supplements. Stop playing doctor -- you are dealing with critical health issues in a frankly stupid way!

All minerals are necessary for a body to function properly. Certain blood tests give your doctors the information they need to assess your specific levels, in conjunction with your body's needs.
Excess minerals do nothing to enhance your health or physical/mental fitness. Below certain numbers, mineral deficiencies can play a major role, in the same respects.
Unless I am deficient, I take no supplements. I know my specific needs, and do take supplements, to increase those deficient numbers.
Right now because of my Congestive Heart Failure(CHF) I need a Potassium supplement along with a Zinc supplement. For my body these are a necessity, not something meant to enhance my physical or mental functions.

I take a magnesium supplement (300 mg) from Mega Food; it really helps with my nightime leg twitching and pain.
