@jazzy22 I have discussed this with my doctor but decided not to do it at the time. She had a number value (i'm sorry I don't remember what that was) where she recommended having the infusion. My bloodwork for IGG was hovering just above and below that number. I have bloodwork done once a month so there is a pattern for me.
As I understand, it boosts immune response. We decided to reconsider if I start to get sick a lot. What I read online indicated it was once a week, and I just didn't want to do that. But my doctor said it really is as needed. So that made it more palatable should I decide to do it. Right now I'm on hold.

I have low gamma globulin, subclass 4, and low IgG. My immunologist thought about infusions but she felt the side effects weren't worth it to go straight to the infusion. She had me have a Prevnar 20 shot and then did blood work to see if my immune system made antibodies, and it did...for now.
I guess pneumonia is the biggest fear with low globulins.
good luck to your husband, I wish him well.

I have had IGG infusions for almost 3 years its something that has to be done weekly since you body does not store IGG. I am doing SUb Q which means I can do it at home and since I broke my hip I have a nurse coming to help me with the infusions.
AT one point in IGG was around 600 anything under 800 is considered bad

I took infusions for low IgG for one year (2016) to help boost my immune system. The infusions helped me though a particularly difficult time of chronic illness. I didn't have any negative side effects or issues from the treatments. Glad I did it.
My insurance covered most of the cost, but I was lucky. The treatments were very expensive. I was told by the doctor that many people who could benefit from the infusions were denied coverage due to the fact they had not tried and exhausted other treatments options first.
Wishing your husband good health.
