Re: interesting appt with foot dr

@mousiegirl---am always willing to try something new. And yes, the shot will be something I will think about long and hard as it is not covered and cost around $1000. thanks

Re: interesting appt with foot dr

Finally got the CT scan on my ankle yesterday---and foot dr appt is next week. So will ---maybe--find out more info on what is going on with my ankle. Broke it in 2022 and while it healed fine, still have lingering pain more in the soft tissues on top and around the ankle and not the actual bone where all the hardware it still. Is bothersome but not debilitating. Took 12 seconds to do--waited over 45 minutes to get in. Woman Embarassed

Re: interesting appt with foot dr

I went to see the foot dr today, about results of the CT scan I had last week on my right ankle and I am not bull goose looney after all-🫤---he found some bones chips, tiny ones--in the location of my pain. Had a broken ankle a few years back.  There is surgery to flush them out,  a viable option, 4-6 weeks in a boot---and then he said he would take some bone marrow and make a prp solution to put in there  to help heal,  while I was still under.  Well-----am not liking the surgery part---and wearing my monster boot for that long--yikes--so maybe I will wait. The pain comes and goes so it's not constant but still annoying. Geez!!!

Re: interesting appt with foot dr

Hey @wagirl  remember me?  We had the broken ankle at the same time.  me two.  I would not do it.

Do you have sciatica or scoloisis pain?  The the sciatic nerve runs right down to the ankle to the bottom foot.. This will never go away, and so I learn to live with it.  I know exactly how to sprain that darn ankle again. But it's not a sprain it's the sciatic nerve. Duh....

I wish you well, however, the boot never worked for me as I was sliding around with thin ankles, made it worse.  I wore a strap around my leg instead Which I could tighten. Never a boot even with 2 breaks.

What happened to Jackie? Is she ok?  we never heard from her again.  Hope all ok. Heart

Again if you want to go through this again, please feel free to do so.  I gave up and live with it. Bless. your decision.  I know it is not easy.  But any broken bone will always cause you some pain the rest of your life. (just my opinion of course but mostly true)

@Pink123 --Hi Pink! I sure do remember you---and our club of the broken anklesWoman Sad

No, have no sciatica or the other pain you mentioned. The ankle bone, itself, is not the problem and foot dr said all the hardware looks good and strong. It's on top of my foot where your leg flexes at the ankle, that the tiny bone fragments or bits of cartilage are. So no nerves are involved. I can walk just fine, and do, usually for a few miles a day. Just aches from it all. It's awakens me at night sometimes too. But I do take tylenol during the day and rub on some pain creams and that helps alot. Not sure what I will do---getting laid up again for weeks is not my cup of tea. Foot dr said also, that signs of arthritis weren't bad--he suspected more of that. Woman Wink

Jackie checked in maybe a year or so ago , maybe longer. Not sure if she is doing ok--hope she is.

Re: interesting appt with foot dr

@wagirl  Hi!  Again my screws in my foot stay as they aren't a pain problem.  It was not hard as I just had one taken out.  It was no big deal at all.  But I left the rest.

I thought you might have had Jackie's  mail or the Lioness to find out.  She had a good humor and a tough nurse.  All of a sudden the posts stopped.  I hope she is doing well and just left this place.
