hair serum question

[ Edited ]

I have some thinning on the hair line area. I have tried so many things and some hurt my scalp and supplement upset me stomach. I have also been to the dermatologist who suggested I see a hair specialist. She did take some blood for testing though. I know these tings are mediocre at best but if you were to buy one of  these which one would you suggest? I know I need to use  them for months but I'm just asking for your opinion from people who know ingredients. Thank you. I have a Hair Max comb as well. Just humor me please. I know these products are money grabs and I've bought most of them. Thank you.

Do the Nutrofol.  It works.  Several of my friends are using it for age related thinning hair.

I was taken aback by the Melatonin in the Nutrafol product.  I've only really heard of it used for sleep.  But, per City Skin Clinic "Melatonin has been shown to affect hair follicles directly by prolonging the anagen phase and delaying the onset of the catagen and telogen phases. This effect is particularly important for those experiencing hair thinning or loss, as a longer anagen phase means more time for hair to grow." Aug 16, 2024

Let us know how it goes.

Minoxidil, either topically or orally (Rx pills), will improve blood flow to your hair follicles. Without good blood supply to the follicles, no supplement will be beneficial b/c it can't get to where it needs to go through the blood vessels in the follicles. Minoxidil is a vasodialator meaning it opens up the blood vessels in and around hair follicles which naturally get smaller with age resulting in follicular miniaturization and subsequent hair loss. Laser devices such as Hairmax and others will also help improve blood circulation in the scalp. Protect your scalp from direct sunlight. UV from the sun disrupts the hair growth cycle and keeps it in the shedding phase longer.

I have used minoxidil foam with no problem. I didn't really give it a chance. I can't use the serum as it burns my scalp. I haven't taken it orally because so many things upset my stomach but I might try it. Thank you.

@SilleeMee   Minoxidil/foam...can it be used on eyebrows?  Mine are really thin.  Is the product prescription only?

 I have used the serums for lashes/brows but it did not work for me.  thanks

@Mom2Dogs

Yes, topical minoxidil can be used on brows. You can buy it OTC. The minoxidil pills are Rx only.
