Its Sunday ,and I would take her to the ER or urgent care asap. You can never be too careful of your eyes

@Pooky1  My husband was on blood thinner once and had a nose bleed. I rushed him to the ER where they packed his nose and it was so bad it was coming out of his eyes.

It had to be packed twice, very scary.

Your wife’s is probably different since eye drops were prescribed. If he said two weeks, it may take awhile before it’s better. If it’s not better soon I would call them.

     I hope she’s better soon!

If you don't do anything else, call the Pharmacist and ask him/her about the drops.  They will be able to tell you what they are for and how long it takes for them to take effect..... Then, tomorrow (or today if possible) put in a call to the eye doctor, who should have explained all this to you.  HTH

What was the diagnosis?  When did the doctor say she could expect an improvement?  Why the heck hasn't she already called that doctor?

@Pooky1  If your wife is not having anymore pain in her eyes, I would continue with the eye drops and relax. If she is having stabbing eye pain at this time, I would go to the ER. Eye pain is serious business and could be an indicator of something even more serious. If the blood vessels in her eyes have hemorrhaged and her eyes look bloody, that isn't a big deal, her eyes will clear in a few weeks. The pain in her eyes is the serious business though. Do yourself a favor and find a doctor who actually explains things to you.

I had a problem like that along with flashing and pain and I went to my eye doctor twice and he just ignored my symptoms and then the detached retina happened and I had to go to the Eye Institute and they had to do surgery by putting a scheral buckle on and after that no vision after two eye hemorrhages I’m blind an blurry. Please get her to a specialist before something horrible happens.

You can also call the eye doctor you went to back and ask to speak with the nurse about your medication.Ask the nurse the questions you brought up here or ask her to clarify with the doctor and then call you back. You can also speak with the pharmacist before calling the eye doctor. Pharmacists can explain the medications and how long they take to work. You could call and ask to speak with the doctor directly, but I have better luck going through the R.N. Don’t just talk to any staff member. Ask for the R.N.

I agree that if the root cause is due to ruptured blood vessels, it will take awhile to see an improvement, but your wife should not hesitate to contact the eye doctor again if she has concerns.
