Wow, I’m impressed with everyone’s exercise routines. I primarily walk each day but I also do calisthenics for core and upper body.

I'm with you, @Lipstickdiva. I hate exercising, can't stand it. Never in my life have I said..."oh, this feels so good, better than ice cream". But what I do say after I finish a workout is, "good girl, you did something positive for your body"! I'm proud of myself theses days instead of ashamed. I go six days a week, sometimes seven. Wish I had started sooner but better late than never.
I don't really have a routine of every other day to do this or that. I pretty much follow the morning schedule at my fitness center. (Love that place). Yesterday I went to the center TWICE! I couldn't believe I did that. But I needed to follow my regular Tuesday morning routine but I also wanted to do the 6 pm line dancing class. Now that, I will say, I do enjoy. And the instructor is great. He's an energizer bunny. The line dancing being in the evening is a negative, especially when I've already worked out. With arthritis you always have to be careful of over working whatever joint is in question.
This morning, because of other things I have to do, I'm going to earlier classes...Gentle Yoga and Pilates Bootcamp. I've avoided this class in the past. That word bootcamp scares me but, well, I can always modify. I'm not crazy about yoga either...the poses are hard. Won't have time for my laps around the track this morning but I can always do my Leslie Sansone's tape later. Thanks poster for reminding me about that tape.
I'm really praying that this winter is not so bad that I get snowed in and lose my routine. I can use my tapes as an alternative but I have questionable discipline at home.
Another point about consistent exercise is the change in how your body looks with it and weight loss versus how it looks with just dieting. I truly feel like I have the look of a 30 lb weight loss, which is my goal versus the 19 lbs that I have actually lost. I'm in a plateau situation for some reason.

Have done a variety of workout options, from water aerobics to Leslie Sansone ( absolutely love the new Miracle Miles...do they 3-mile DVD several times a week at 72 ).
Between the Pilates machine and the chair: prefer the floor machine with the " bouncing " platform. HTH and good luck !

I hate to exercise too. I forcifully force myself to do it 6 days a week.
I do a variety of things. And the only reason I exercise is I like to eat. LOL
I either walk 10,000 steps a day, which is between 4 to 5 miles. I walk outside when the weather is good. I don't walk in the snow or when it's icy.
I have an elliptical at home and a treadmill. I'd rather do the elliptical than the treadmill. The treadmill is so boring to me.
I have a few Leslie Sansone walking tapes. I do those 3-5 times a week. I have weights so I get some strength training in.
As much as I hate and complain about exercising, when I don't do it, I feel miserable. I sleep better, eat better, and feel better.

@CANDLEQUEEN, I'm not sure if you're an Evine shopping but they had one on yesterday. Chris Freytag was repping it and I think it was called the Nano Trainer or something like that. It had 3 different bands attached in different colors for different levels of resistance. I cannot remember the price. I want to think in the $130.00 range.

I want a pilates reformer too! I need to wait until we get our new house with more room and then I will get one. They are awesome! I am actually surprised my gym doesn't have a couple because our old gym did and actually had classes. They are going to update our gym soon so I am hoping they throw in a couple pilates machines. All the cardio machines will have their own tvs on them which I thought was pretty cool as it makes time go by faster on days that I don't do intervals.

@bri20, I'm ridiculous and then I get mad at myself for how ridiculous I am about exercise. I am pushing into the next bigger size of clothes so I'm mad about that. I feel miserable doing nothing not only physically but mentally about myself. I stand in front of my closet everyday trying to figure out what to wear that won't be uncomfortable.
I notice a huge difference in how my knees, ankles and feet feel doing no exercising. I went to put on a pair of jeans the other day that I haven't worn since spring and wanted to cry. I got them on but the button left an imprint on my stomach. Oy.

@Lipstickdiva, I know how that goes. ![]()
I get so mad at myself for pushing it off all day long. I hate to do it at night because then I don't sleep good. LOL
You have to bite the bullet and just do it. Once you make it a habit and start feeling better, it will get easier. That's all I got...LOL

Part of the reason I am leaning more toward the Pilates Chair is simply space! I have a dedicated exercise room in my house, unfortunately it is combined with my office, so therefore space is limited, and as much as I want the Reformer, it does take up quite a bit of space.....We'll see, because whichever I get I want to be sure that I use it.........It is very interesting reading everyone's exercise routines........

Hi @Laura14. Is the Power a DVD? I'm looking to increase my strength training and I workout at home.
