Please don't panic or worry. The tests are all for dealing with anything that might need addressing. It is not uncommon for a lot of females to get cysts involving their reproductive organs. Presently, I am awaiting a surgery schedule date for a tumor in my uterus which is quite large. It is not cancerous but it should be removed.

With my ultra sounds, one showed a more solid looking cyst, which was of huge concern...the other ovary appeared normal. When I had my surgery to remove, the normal looking one was terribly cystic, and needed removal, the one with solid looking cyst was fine as well, but both, and tubes needed removal. I had an early menop, and had this surgery at 49, Try not to worry.

Ovarian cysts are very common. Chances are that it's a cyst or benign tumor. I had a large ovarian cyst and my daughter had an ovarian cyst removed when she wax just 9 years old. Stay positive and don't worry until you have something to worry about.

Thanks e everyone. What concerns me is she now has to have the blood test. Wouldn't they be able to tell if it was just a cyst by the ultrasounds.

I have an ovarian cyst of long standing. When it was initially diagnosed the GYN followed it for a year via ultrasound. Didn't change so he told me it was nothing of concern. Now many years later another GYN is concerned. In the past two years I have had the blood test three times and five ultrasounds--go back in October for another.

Honey, don't worry (as the other posters have suggested). However, please learn to spell - the word is ovary.

No reason to pick on a typo, we all understood what she was referring too. She is upset about her mothers health, not a typo. Cut her some slack for Pete's sake, o perfect one.

I just wanted to thank all of you for saying not to panic. My mom's blood work came back fine. She has to have the ultrasound repeated in a few months to make sure it is going away. She had a really hard time. waiting for the blood work result. She is going to get a second opinion to give herself peace of mind but it looks like everything is ok.

That is great to hear! I really hate waiting for blood work results, it IS scary sometimes. Sounds like everything is fine but a second opinion is always a good idea, certainly never hurts!

I had an enlarged ovary that turned out to be a cyst.
