5 years ago I was diagnosed with hepatitis and had to spend a few days in hospital getting my enzymes and so on stablized. I had to take--and recently had to re-start this stuff again--lactulose. This is nasty stuff; the taste is terrible and the medicine itself if syrupy. It's all I can do to get it down.

While I was hospitalized, I complained about it to a nurse and she started to laugh and said they had one patient who liked it so much he used it on his pancakes! Woman Tongue

Maybe I'll try that; it couldn't taste any worse than it does now.

It has a sweet taste. I used to give it to a cat of mine and.....well....I tasted it. I think most people would like it since its sweet, but I personally don't like sweet things....so I understand.

This was prescribed for me for constipation!  It is terribly sweet -- like liquid sugar!  However, I've had much, much worse.  It doesn't tast bad I don't think, just really sweet.
