How many of you cancer survivors were told by their healthcare providers to STOP drinking because it can increase your chance or cancer coming back?  Just curious because I have heard so many conflicting answers about this.

Are you speaking of alcoholic beverages?

I have had cancer twice and was treated at 2 different hospitals and neither one ever said this to me.

Seems like a no brainer.

The simple truth is that alcoholic drinks are not good for anybody. Period. Alcohol is very unhealthy for a body.

My mother died from a tumor in her neck that was caused by whiskey. She had a bad drinking problem in her younger days and as she aged  it grew and caused all kinds of cancers to form in her body besides the tumor.

There is a big difference in being an alcoholic and having occasional drinks.  I've never heard of being told to not drink unless pregnant.

I agree.  Alcohol isn't good for the body.

That is like saying it is ok to have occasional cigarettes... neither smoking or drinking is good for the human body EVER pregnant or not.. I guess everyone wants to make their own rules.
