Maintaining a healthy diet during pregnancy is very important.
During this time, your body needs additional nutrients, vitamins and minerals.
In fact, you may need 350–500 extra calories each day during the second and third trimesters.
A diet lacking in key nutrients may negatively affect the baby’s development.
Does anyone give some tips about diet during pregnancy?

Gut Microbiome is an important aspect of pregnancy.
The mother’s dietary & lifestyle choices will shape the adult health
of her newborn. A healthy gut will allow the baby to have a healthy
beginning & adult life. Fascinating to see papers written about
Gut Microbiome.
As a pregnant woman, the cheeseburger/oily fries might seem
like an innocent ’craving’, but not only does it hurt the Mother’s health,
creating unhealthy gut flora, that is extended to the unborn baby,
which creates an unhealthy gut flora w/ the unborn...
which creates a unhealthy beginning...as well as adult unhealthy
gut flora.
How to create healthy gut flora?
That’s another thread.

I don't believe in diets. My lifestyle would not change throughout pregnancy, as my lifestyle is very healthy and gives me all the nutrients I need and more for a little one. It is a good idea to review your lifestyle to be sure you are providing for yourself as well as a baby. I believe health is more than the food you eat: stress management, sleep, exercise, as well as the food you consume....and your newborn will thrive if all of these are in order.

Yes to good nutrition during pregnancy, of course.
But if you want to give your baby a great start in life (a healthy microbiome!!), BREASTFEED!

Yes, just make sure you get your information on what to eat during YOUR pregnancy based on YOUR own labs and individualized needs. All pregnancies are different. WARNING...the Internet is not the place to get information on what to eat during your pregnancy. Far too much bogus information to put your life and the health of your unborn baby in jeopardy.
