Daisy, I had the same thing, a new crown was put in, it was the tooth next to my canine tooth, and for a while, like two weeks, the tooth on the other side felt too long, I thought I was going crazy, every other day it felt off and I was so tired of my none stop dental procedures I felt like I didn't want to call so I lived with it, and do you know what, it feels fine now.  I read where your teeth have to shift ever so slightly and feel more comfortable after a crown, so I guess that is what mine did.  I also bought this mouth wash, rinse product that strengthens your enamal, so maybe that helped with the weird tinges I was feeling.  Good luck and maybe wait it out for a couple of weeks.  They can check the bite with the paper thing that they make you bite on, you know I also ready where when they do that you should be sitting upright to get the right bite because that is where your jaw will be most of the time, but even my dentist still has me lying down for that test.

Well, I made it through my root canal, Hooty.

How'd you do with your appointment?

Good for you Mmsfoxxie!

Well, I still have a broken tooth, but will get it finally extracted on the 19th!!!  The Oral Surgeon was surprised that the Dentist did not pull the tooth, I don't know why either, I guess she had her reasons, but I am not happy about it!

Thanks for checking on me!Smiley Happy

Our general dentist will not extract teeth or do root canals. There is a specialist for everything.  I have an endodontist who treats my gums, one oral surgeon who did a root canal and a different oral surgeon who pulled the tooth when the root canal failed. The latter oral surgeon did the dental implant but he sent me back to my general dentist to have the crown made and put on.

Gosh Daisy, your issues sound like mine.  I felt like my front teeth were (and still are) touching when I close but not sure if I am now overfocusing on my teeth since all this started on May 13th after my cleaning and subsequent visits.  I forget how they use to feel, however, I am not going back until my next cleaning in October and then I will ask if my bite is ok.  I am not sure at this point which teeth are suppose to click together or not so I feel your frustration, and yes, I have felt like crying about it all because you are truly at the mercy of the dentist.  I am trying not to worry about it and  maybe you should also, just let your teeth settle in to the new crown and hopefully your bite will adjust.  Do your teeth hurt, mine did, (only some on the top), but now they are ok, like I said it might have to do with this mouth wash from Colgate that has minerals in it to strengthen your teeth.

Yes, I wondered why an oral surgeon, too.  Specialist definitely are more expensive.  I asked my dentist if he was qualified to do root canals.  He laughed and he'd only done two.  Then he told me he was joking and he was highly qualified to do them if it was routine as my was.

Well, good luck with whomever you choose to do it.

I went to my trusted old dentist Friday. He looked at my supposedly broken bridge and said it was fine and didn't need anything done to it. The tooth they claimed needed a filling was also fine - he even xrayed it again and said there was nothing wrong with it.

Just more scares from the Florida rip off dentists.

Sad news was my old pal, my only dentist since 1983 told me by the first of the year he will be totally retired. He's moving to Florida and not going to work at all -- good for him, bad for me.

I do have to go see him again to have some lazer work done on my gums - they overgrow as a side effect of the prednisone I take for my asthma.

One thing for sure about doctors and dentists.....they will always be needed.

Oh, and morticians.

Finally, I got my tooth extracted this morning, the procedure was a piece of cake, I was asleep and didn't even feel a thing!  This afternoon is a little different, been taking pain meds every 4 hrs. and am still hurting, hopefully things will be better tomorrow!
