ibb38, that's so sweet of you to suggest a good Rx. Actually I'm doing really well these days My final surgery was about two years ago and the recovery process was long and hard but I had the very best of medical care so I was most fortunate.

I was just frustrated to see that the OP, who is in real need of important health suggestions, was being made fun of by several posters.

I was trying to make the point that this is a potentially life and death situation which is nothing to make fun of.

The good news is I didn't have C diff again. I must of had a stomach virus or just a bad digestive track still from two months of antibiotics. The probotics I got worked within a couple of days. Amazingly they were the cheap natures made and they worked like a charm.

Good Grief. How can one investigate if one does not get the correct spelling. There is plenty of info on the Web. Did no one provide information on this while hospitalized?

From my experience with a relative at the hospital dealing with C-diff, he was NOT provided information. On one occasion, I mentioned it to a RN -- and she asked me what it was. I knew we were in trouble then. The nurses can be carriers, as their scrub pants often drag the floor and the floors of a C-diff patients are not always clean. They also do not wash their hands in between patients.

Maybe the OP didn't research it, as she didn't know the correct spelling. Pls, let's give her a break....

I agree. Please give the op a break. Sometimes I read the replies and I am just amazed at how nasty they are. Anyways, I work in a hospital and c-diff is nothing to joke about. I'm not even a nurse and I k ow it can be quite serious. Good luck to the op and please ignore rude comments.

So, so happy for you that you didn't have a recurrence of c-diff! So glad that the probiotics worked... as you could tell from my previous post... I'm a believer in probiotics and in being pro-active when it comes to prevention! So, I stay on these probiotics always!

You're welcome! Florastor is actually a probiotic, not a prescrption. The reviews indicate it helps prevent a re occurance of c diff. My bil is a GI doctor and he said many of his patients have had great success with it. After seeing my Dad go through 2 bouts of c diff in one month- we really almost lost him - Florastor is now part of his daily regimen! He's been free of c diff for 2 months. The way I figure- if you're taking a probiotic you might as well take one that has a history of success with your particular issue.
