Not all of us live in an area where such quick service is available. I live in a very rural town where we do have several specialists, but not such quick healthcare. We haven't long got an urgent care clinic, but it isn't open 24/7 or everyday. It would be nice to have those services but we would have to drive 2-3 hours for such quick service, though it would be a nice treat of shopping after your mammogram to make the day worth the visit!

Sorry to hear that. But, it could be benign. Let's pray for that.

It's still not necessarily the worst...I had a lump/density 6 months ago and got called back for both another view and an ultrasound a month later. They were Ok.
But, I had to go back after another 6 months. So just went again recently, and in other words, 3 mammograms and an ultrasound of the same breast in 2014. Two within a month of each other in June, another six months later in December. All was OK. No change. No secondary ultrasound needed at the six month mark. I go back again on that breast in 6 months when I will get both of them mammogrammed again. If the left one still has no change at that time, I can go back to a yearly schedule on both sides.
Some women are prone to having densities in their breasts that are not necessarily cancer. They are becoming easier to see on the new digital mammograms and are causing a lot of callbacks until the doctors are used to reading the new digital results and get better at spotting the stuff that isn't an issue. They are erring on the side of caution, hence more callbacks.

My grandmother had a lump that turned out to be a benign cyst, but had to be removed in the 80s since that was the way they treated lumps back then. It was a fibroid cyst. My sister has several small ones and was advised to stop drinking caffeine. They went away with that change. She has since had two babies and breastfeed them. She went back to drinking only one caffeine beverage a day after breastfeeding and the cysts haven't returned.
30mm is about the size of a watch face. It is most likely benign. The ultrasound is to get a look at all sides of it for shape and density.
I pray all is well with you! Keep up the good spirits!

An ultrasound is also used to look for fluid in the mass which is found in benign fibro cysts. They may want to drain the fluid for your comfort and to test it.This is done with a needle.
I have had this a couple of times. Turned out fine. I hope you get in soon. The waiting is the pits.
Best to you!

I always have to go back for a second view and they always find nothing. Sometimes like me I have dense tissue and it shows up as something else. Good luck!

I had a callback, ultrasound, and biopsy all in one day and it was all so overwhelming and scary. Everything ended up okay for me and will for you as well--I somehow was able to get my thoughts to one thing at a time. My thoughts and prayers will be with you for strength and courage--please keep us posted as you feel able!
