I was called back in 2011 and in 2012, all checked out just fine. It is difficult not to be worried, but most of the time it is just for something that amounts to nothing, hang in there.

Don't worry until they schedule a biopsy...even then it is usually nothing. The voice of experience on call backs and biopsies. However, everyone worries...it is only natural.

When I did have to have a biopsy (benign calcifications) it was over Thanksgiving. Now I try not to schedule any routine stuff over the holidays! Too much stress.

I've had mammograms taken for almost 50 years with no call-back - until a few months ago. I posted on here and got so much encouragement from the ladies that I decided not to worry. It was 11 days until my follow-up appointment with an ultrasound - and the doctor said "something in the first x-rays overlapped" and I was fine. Most of the time, it's nothing. Good Luck!!!

Switching to this type of facility has helped my anxiety tremendously. My mother had BC twice so I am extra fearful of the test and the results. I have mentioned this several times before on these threads. Ladies--do yourself a favor and switch to a facility where you get the results right away. It was one of the smartest decisions I have ever made in my life.
I do go to a facility where the results are read immediately.
However, they are then reviewed again - by two additional doctors - so sometimes people get callbacks. I don't think that's a terrible thing. I'm very happy that they're so thorough.

I've had to go back for a pap because the sample wasn't significant enough. They've since changed swab types. The larger the bust the more difficult it is to get the proper views, also any movement could blur the pics, so another pic is called for. I agree that it is better to be safe than sorry on both people's parts.

It does happen but does not mean that you should not follow up. Followup is imperative in this situation as it could be something but it could be nothing, but don't let others discourage you from following up. Your happiness or your life could depend on it.

My breast tissue is very dense and my age 35 baseline one was unreadable/clear because of this. Now my doctor sends me for a 3-d mammogram.
