I have a 3 cord machine which is probably at least 10 years old.  Tempted to upgrade but then really for what reason... It does have the rebounder.  All is still working just fine.  I use it a few times a week but plan to do more in the new year!!  How often and what is your routine if you have one?  I have some dvd's but never watch.  I just watch when Marjolien is on and look on her webstie and follow the chart.  Just curious how you all use yours...

I also have the 3 cord with the rebounder. I use it at least every other day. I do the basic routine that I learned from the video I received with my first machine. I love it knowing it keeps me flexible and I have a stronger core and have stronger arm and leg muscles. It has been very good for my feet also. I have better posture and don't walk stooped over like many people my age.

Hi @bargainsgirl

I had a 4 cord for 14 years, and then 7 years ago got an "upgrade" to five cord that came with the rebounder and had the risers, that you could switch out for the pull-up bar, which I bought too (don't use it that often but when I do it's effective.)  My old one, from 2000, had to use attachments to fit the rebounder to, and had no risers etc.  Mine was an original old one, before they had developed the rebounder.  Yours sounds newer and if you feel it's gving you all you need, and it's still in good shape keep going until you really use it a lot and want an upgrade.

There have been years I don't use it a lot, but when I get back in the habit, I love it. Most recent, (and I don't know if you are on Facebook but...), I'm in a FB group, "Aeropilates Addicts", and they posed a "pre-Christmas, 30 day challenge." We exercised everyday, didn't have to be on your reformer, ANYthing...and post it...to keep accountable.  I did a variety of my usual things, walking, stationary bike, and got back to using the reformer in new ways...really got me back into it.  They are currently doing a 7 day "Tummy Tightening" 20 minute, daily rebounding challenge...so I'm rebounding everyday.

Also, lots of ladies there post a lot of workouts they found on YouTube or wherever, so we share ideas. But if you aren't on FB, just go to YouTube...plenty there.

I visited YouTube, there are plenty of free videos there for the reformer. Also, I'm thinking I'll eventually try Marjolein's 14 day free trial on her website...she has a library of many video workouts. The machine really does have a lot of versatility to it, once you start watching new videos and getting new ideas, also to keep from getting bored on it.

Hope that helps motivate you and gives you some ideas...

@bargainsgirl

I had the XP Model until a sewage flood in my finished basement ruined much of my home theater and home gym equipment. I had an Aero Pilates first that came with a stand. I didn't like the stand and sold the Aero to my sister.

I then bought the XP Model that sat on the floor. The flooding was in 2015 and I honestly don't remember if it had the 4 or 5 cords. It did come with the rebounder and I used it maybe twice a week.

I also have a Bowflex and Total Gym, which I use also, thus spreading that part of my exercises between those 3 machines(now 2). I know that back then, Stamina had a Red Cord available to purchase for my machine. The Red Cord was a thicker cord with more resistance than the black ones.

Might check and see if they have a Red cord for your model Aero. I can tell you this that like regular "rubber bands", the more you stretch them, the less resistance to stretch happens to them. I could see that with my XP Model after a lot of use of say 1 band, it was losing its resistance.

I realize with exercising with resistance, certain weights become easier. With dumbbells the resistance never changes. With any type of resistance bands or cords, over time, their resistance to being stretched becomes less.

I think 3 cords are fine, but if you want more resistance, you might check and see if new cords are available for your 10 year old Aero. That old of a machine I think it would be a Stamina made machine.

Might want to give this some thought. I can tell you my Bowflex bows also because easier, so I did purchase new bows, only of the ones I used most. Those were the four 10# rods and the two 30# rods. I replaced them and what a difference.

Somethings to consider!

Just checked. You can go to their link. Not sure if allowed to put it here. Just go to all 1 word staminaproducts with the usual dot com. They have Yellow/Black and Red cords.

@bargainsgirl , I have been using a Pilates machine for years.  During the pandemic, it is great to be able to work out at home.  Pilates and elliptical are part of my regular workout.  I do miss swimming in winter but am not ready ready to go back to aquatics yet.

I use dvds and YouTube for workout material.  S

We bought the 5 cord Rebounder Reformer and the platform a few years back.  It’s currently disassembled and put away in a closet.  I should have never bought it in the first place since we don’t have a good spot to leave it set up all the time.  Wish I could sell it.

@bargainsgirl  I never use mine.  I have the 5 cord with rebounder.  I thought I would use this but I don't know, maybe it's the height...it's so low.

@Snoopp

Did your machine come with the stand?

I have had my rebounder spread out on the floor in my bedroom for 18 years. I never close it and store it away.  I think my physical fitness is more important than how it looks in my bedroom. It isn't on a stand. I am thankful that at my age I can get down on the floor and get back up easily. When I started using it 18 years ago, I couldn't get down as easily because

I had been sitting behind a desk at work for 30 years.
