I have an OLD 3-cord machine which still works but needs some care.  What can I put on the wheels/runner to make it glide more smoothly?  I was thinking mineral oil but not sure if this would be good to use. We already have replaced  2 of the wheels.

@bargainsgirl Perhaps either of those things might work, but I'd call Stamina and ask.

Because as I recall, before I replaced my old reformer, and my wheels were getting the same way, I think I put some kind of lubricant on it...I forget exactly what...but I think they just got gummy, sticky.

If it was me, I'd call Stamina. They have a good customer service dept. Their website might even answer things like this

Silicone spray. I ordered some from Amazon. Google "Pilates machine squeaking" and you will see a lot of answers.

I used WD-40 on mine.  Just be sure to put something underneath the rollers to catch any run-off so if doesn't drip on your floors.  There is also a lubricating spray for garage door springs that I think would work well.

Has anyone recovered the vinyl on the carriage? Mine has tears now.

Could a in-depth cleaning be in order?  Amazing where dust bunnies and pet hair get to.

Online it says to clean with damp wet cloth. Says you can use a little white lithium grease in the tube not spray on the wheel wells but not to use it on the wheels or tracks.

It says not to use WD-40 or Silicone since it attracts dirt & dust.
